Why do I need a book editor?
Writing is a left brain activity - it is creative. Editing is a right brain activity, practical, intellectual, dealing with the mechanics of English -- spelling, grammar and whether things makes sense or not. The two brain functions rarely go together.
This is why authors and writers usually have a hard time editing their own work. They are too intertwined in the creative process to be able to see many of the errors in their own writings.
Manuscript submissions will very likely be rejected for the simplest of reasons; you could be unknowingly committing major errors.
The following is part of a quote from a small traditional publishing company:-
"Don't send us anything that hasn't been edited. Make sure your work is error free, clear and concise”
